UK Students (including settled/pre-settled EU students)

Student Finance

Almost all UK students are eligible for a government student loan, which will cover University tuition fees and, in many cases, living costs as well. You will not need to repay this until you have graduated and are earning above a certain income threshold. You can apply for a student loan through your regional funding body:

  •

Cambridge Bursary Scheme

The Cambridge Bursary scheme provides free financial support of up to £3500 a year to full-time undergraduate students from the UK, whose annual household income is under £62215. The amount students receive is in proportion to their household income. Students who have been eligible for free school meals may be able to receive an additional £1000 each year. The bursary does not need to be repaid.

Cambridge allocates bursaries to students based on the household income assessment conducted by Student Finance (or the Student Awards Agency in Scotland) when you apply for a student loan, so if you want to be considered for the bursary you'll need to fill out a student loan application. You do not need to accept the student loan if you do not wish to, and you can request a loan value of £0 if you only want to be considered for the Cambridge Bursary.
